Bobbi Brown Soothing Cleansing Oil

Who doesn’t love a good cleansing oil at night to take off all the grime from your skin? It’s one of the best methods to truly give yourself a deep pore cleanse on a regular basis, without stripping the skin with harsh cleansers. Bobbi Brown launched a new version of her cleansing oil, this time making it a soothing one with jasmine scent. Being previously familiar for years with cleansing oils -I do love my Shu Uemura- and the last years with balms & creams, I can say I knew what to expect with this one.

It’s a very light runny oil obviously fairly scented with the jasmine, but so easy to spread out onto the skin. I take about two pumps of this and that’s enough for my entire face and neck. It gives plenty of slip and doesn’t dry out too fast, unlike certain other brands that make it impossible to massage the product in for a while. With cleansing oils you need to take your time and this one is no different. It will completely remove any trace of makeup/sunscreen/grime but you need to let the oils dissolve it all. This isn’t a rush cleansing method like a wipe -sidebar, never ever think that cleansing wipes are enough- but a proper cleanse.

It doesn’t take ages to learn how to use it either, just slap it onto dirty/dry skin and use your hands to warm up the product whilst massaging it in. Focus on the stubborn makeup areas or where you get clogged pores often. Oil cleansers are amazing for getting rid of blackheads over time, cause they cut through it like a knife through butter. Feel with your fingers where you need to work it a little more, it’s that easy. This oil is a very nice one, also the most liquid one I’ve used until now so be careful as to how much you pump out and spread out. It will run down your face if you use too much.

Very much worth getting a sample of and make sure you like the scent. It’s pretty potent but once rinsed off it’s completely gone. I’m left with baby soft skin. A pro tip could be that you leave this on for a few minutes -without having done your eyes yet- and really letting the oils sit so they can work it good. Take about 5 minutes and then take some more again, apply on your eye area and rinse it all off. You don’t want to sit there with this on your eyes cause you’ll need to keep them closed at all time. Cleansing oil in your eyes can sting for some but for me it make my eye sight go milky.

I absolutely love this cleansing oil; I have a mini of it (I think it came in a gift set) so I used to use it for facials (back in the good old days when I could use other products – on a long term review at the mo) and it’s such a brilliantly easy and gentle product xx

It really is a gentle one, just have to make sure you like the scent. Not that it sticks around once you rinse it off :)

Ik ben ook fan van reinigingsolie’s voor het gezicht. Deze heb ik nog niet getest. Momenteel staat de PreCleanse van Dermalogica in mijn badkamerkastje :-)
