L’Occitane Creme Précieuse Immortelle Precious Cream

Going heavy on the moisturizers was my plan all along for winter. I quite enjoy.. no I freaking love to slather my face in a heavy cream when the wind will burn my angel cheeks red & sore. I find it gives me a protection layer from the cold and the drying effects from central heating.

I do still mix it up a bit with a hydrating serum, a brightening one, a nourishing facial oil, or sometimes on it’s own when I’m feeling lazy or need to go basic. My skin does get tired from all the product testing sometimes, didn’t read that fine print before starting a beauty blog. Anyway, this moisturizer by L’Occitane was a surprise find really. Not geared for my skintype like at all, in my head -and on the website- this is meant for older people that need a heavy moisturizer that has anti aging properties and a slight brightening action. If you cut out the old part of the prerequisites, I’m game for some testing and that I did!

This thick white cream made me go ‘oeh skin feels so smooth’ after application. This sunk right in and left a nice moist velvety finish -that’s a new thing for me too- without resulting in a huge sticky mess or clogged pores. Do bear in mind that this wasn’t for me to begin with, yet I never found it to be that heavy. Sure it’s not a gel but the magic word here is that I have dehydrated skin and it can crinkle up like leather if I get a hot shower. I know it’s bad for me but I crave it so badly sometimes, that I’m willing to deal with the consequences of my bad behavior.

There’s a distinct fresh floral scent here.. must be those immortelle flowers and a hint of fragrance -get that out of here please- so our manliness is under siege yes. Then again, anyone you invite close enough to smell your moisturizer must be more than a random person passing by no?

It’s not the cheapest thing in the range but I do quite love the packaging. Looks very posh yet remains a jar, so clean those fingers before you start dipping. You’ll have to scrap a bit at some point no doubt due to the jar design, but I’m willing to do that for every last bit. People with normal skin will be fine and so will those with drier skin. Oily skinned people can make this work if you just make sure that you have a proper way of exfoliation going on. Chemical or physical.. just don’t want you to go clog up those pores over time, in case this is too rich. It’s not for me.. then again I do exfoliate mildly every (other) day.

I LOVE the whole Immortelle range. Just a fabulous range from one of my favourite brands.

I had no idea was this good! Still marketed for older skin that needs anti aging but I found it to work perfect for mine. Does that mean I’m getting old skin? :D
